All day comfort but sole lets it down
The Defy VCR (which stands for velcro) is a generously cut, well fitting shoe that offers true all day comfort. This is not a shoe suitable for hardcore bouldering or out there redpoints but for 90% of us who climb a variety of styles at a level a few steps below world class they are well suited to a variety of tasks.

They are very kind to the feet, the split, padded tongue sits well under the velcro straps and offer good comfort even when the straps are notched in extra tight. The heel is also very well designed, it sucks onto the foot very well and it usable for heel hooks. There is enough rubber on the toe area for toe hooks as well.

I bought these shoes in my actual size and they fit nicely, drop a size and your into hobbling around, eye watering territory so be warned.

The only downside to these shoes is the rubber on the sole, it starts of well, has a nice edge but it ages quickly. I climb once every one-two weeks and in less than a year of use...
